Hi! I’m Lindsay Garey, lifelong crafter, painter of all things, cheesecake lover, mom to two beautiful girls and one giant white dog, and owner of The Aviary Girls.
I became a serious crafter after resigning from teaching to run a daycare from my home. I learned to decompress and refresh from busy days filled with caring for little ones with quiet evenings of creativity. As my creative escapes produced completed projects, my home filled with custom, meaningful decor.
I founded The Aviary Girls in 2015 to share the social and mental benefits of the creative process with others. The Aviary Girls , me and a team of 5 very talented women,*hosts Craft Parties where guests create custom, home decor while relaxing with friends (and maybe a drink) in a laid back, fun atmosphere. We also offer DIY Craft Kits and virtual parties to provide our Craft Party experience to guests in the comfort of their homes.
The Aviary Girls believe in handmade, perfectly imperfect, decor with meaning. Every DIY Craft Kit and Custom Ordered piece is made by hand, to order just for you.

Cindy Haske is our resident artist. She instructs our canvas paint classes and kids’ parties. She is engaged to be married next Summer and she can actually talk to animals.
Mandie Rhodenhizer builds and cuts every single piece to order from her garage workshop. She’s a mom of 5, my next door neighbor, and unpaid therapist.
Cheryl Swift is the owner of The Warrenton branch of The Aviary Girls. She’s artistically talented in every way, mother of 4 kids and too many pets to count, and a full time vet tech.
Valerie DiMattina is an expert in all things vinyl. She creates each vinyl stencil to order. She is the mother to 3 adult daughters and grandmother to 2 sweet boys.
Kathryn Smith is our handlettering expert. She’s also a full time first grade teacher mother of a 2 year old boy. The youngest and least wine drinking member of the team.
